CELTIC FOLK FESTIVAL IN ANNAHÜTTE

Support association Förderverein Annahütte Lausitz e.V. is involved with the preservation of the attractiveness of the former miners' and glassworkers' village, especially of the beautiful neo-gothic Henriettenkirche from 1904.

Privy Councillor of Commerce Heye built this church in honour of his wife Henriette Constantin, Patrick and Mareen The folks of Annahütte in the marquee

In order to fund the restoration of the Voigt organ within the listed clinker building, on Whitsaturday (7 June 2014) the Annahütte citizens organised a Celtic Folk Festival.

From 2 pm on the vibes on the place in front of the church became very Irish. In a midsummery heat there were stands with Whiskey-tasting, fish & chips, coffee and cake or hog roast, which provided for the physical well-being of the guests.

In the marquee one could feed the emotional well-being and care for the Irish soul in all of us. With music and dance from Brigandu from Berlin, Dresden Bagpipes, A Sè Ceoltoir from Oschatz, Fil Campbell from Northern Ireland and Erin Circle from Cottbus the guests drifted gradually towards the Emerald Isle.

Dancing is to move jumping through your life Never go out without hats and umbrellas This is the Rhythm of my Life

During the whole festival we had very nice encounters with guest, artists and organisers.

"How long do you have to practice in order to throw your hooves like this?" After our performance we visited the Henriettenkirche from the inside... ... and marvelled at the gorgeous painting

We donated a part of our fee to the good cause of the event.

We would like to thank the organisers, especially Sieglinde Roy and Jörn Erbert, for the invitation and we hope for a remake next year.
